| Description: | To restore the handicapped to their fullest physical ability in-home and supervise the Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. |
| Duties: | -Completes initial evaluation in a timely manner upon receipt of referral and develops a care plan.
-Observes, records and reports the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient’s condition.
-Evaluates patient’s progress, determine need for continuation or discontinuation and notify physician accordingly.
-Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes and prosthetic and orthotic devices.
-Treats patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance, using physical means, such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light and electricity.
-Supervises all disciplines in therapeutic exercises at timely intervals as appropriate. |
| Qualifications: | A graduate of a program in physical therapy approved by the council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association in collaboration with the American Physical Therapy Association, or its equivalent, and when applicable is licensed or certified by the State. |
